some additional thoughts about AE in DC: 1. the first dj (rob hall?) played hell interface (yay !!!!!) - which sounded fantastic on a loud system. 2. and he played other wicked electro 3. men's recovery project was complete shit - and they reveled in it. 4. it seemed like a good chunk of the crowd was there for the complete shit (see above) 5. ae started out four on the floor and moved quickly into utter chaos 6. but i could follow the thread (read: beat) that wove the chaos together 7. except for about the last twenty minutes. i don't know what the fuck happened then. as a reviewer of an earlier show said "that's when ae ate my head." 8. i only counted 3 tracks. but i was, uh, drunk - so who knows? 9. a friend of mine swears he heard snippets from tri-repetae. i think he's off his rocker. 10. the crowd seemed more industrial than raver-rific to me. but the glow sticks were annoying (but then - they're always annoying). 11. i didn't see a conga line (thankfully). was i at the same show as heather? 12. haswell sounded interesting - but after ae he was boring and we left. 13. i fall squarely in the amber/tri-repetae camp - and i still thought the show was amazing. it was anything but repetetive. i think insane would be the appropriate descriptive term 14. who knew that the apple symbol on mac powerbooks glows in the dark? - d ----- Original Message ----- From: Heather L Woskey <s2hlwosk@atlas.vcu.edu> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2001 4:29 AM Subject: [idm] DC + Autechre
